SUMMARY: Reports to the building’s head custodian or his/her designee and is responsible for performing custodial tasks in accordance with standard practices of the institutional housekeeping trades. Will observe and abide by the policies adopted by the Special Administrative Board and the rules and regulations of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs custodial duties including using regular and mechanical equipment; cleaning; dust mopping; vacuuming; scrubbing floors, walls, and ceilings; replacing lamps; maintaining building grounds, including removing snow, as needed.
- Performs custodial tasks in accordance with standard practices of the institutional housekeeping trades.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the above noted essential duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Graduate of a general or technical high school, or equivalent.
- Some experience in general institutional housekeeping or any equivalent combination of training or experience preferred.
- Ability to work well in supervised and unsupervised situations.
- Ability to work cooperatively at various sites and locations.
- Ability to climb ladder to inspect and replace light bulbs and ceiling tiles.
- Ability to lift, carry and store all normal custodial supplies up to 50 pounds independently.
- Ability to be on your feet 7 out of 8 hours per day.
- Ability to inspect and read work orders.
- Ability to operate a variety of custodial equipment including a floor stripper, buffer, carpet shampooer, vacuum cleaner, and small power and hand tools.
- Perform custodial and related duties in a conscientious, safe manner
- Successful completion of background check by Human Resources.

Year: 12 Months
Salary: Based on the District Custodial Salary Schedule
